Disconnect your account

  1. Sign in and open Social Publish → Channels.
  2. Select Disconnect next to the account and confirm.
  3. Repeat for each connection and workspace you want to remove.

Disconnecting a Facebook connection also disconnects every Page and Facebook-linked Instagram profile using that connection in this workspace. A separate direct Instagram or Threads connection must be disconnected separately.

What is removed and retained

Disconnect removes the connection’s access and refresh tokens from our encrypted credential storage, removes stored profile details, clears provider publishing payloads and media access links, and cancels queued posts. The disconnected connection can no longer be used to publish or fetch analytics. If credential storage is temporarily unavailable, we show an error without claiming success; retry or contact support.

For TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and X, disconnect also removes stored analytics and provider-returned post identifiers and links. We keep redacted local status records and a non-identifying marker to prevent duplicate publishing. Reconnecting does not restore erased metrics or post identifiers. Meta connections can retain published post identifiers and links in local history; request additional deletion below if needed. Disconnect does not delete original uploaded media, saved drafts or app-authored post text, though per-channel captions and platform settings saved for that account’s posts are deleted. Delete original media separately from your workspace library, or request additional data deletion below.

Analytics and insights

Analytics for YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn and X is optional. In Channels, choose Disable analytics to stop collection and delete stored metric snapshots while keeping publishing access. Disconnect removes both.

Facebook, Instagram and Threads insights are fetched from Meta when you open Analytics and refreshed while it stays open. They are shown only to the member who connected the account and are not stored. Disconnecting the account stops them immediately.

Published posts and permissions

Posts already published on the social platform remain there. A submission already in progress may still complete. Delete those posts on the social platform itself.

We also attempt to revoke the app’s permissions where supported. A Facebook authorization still used by another active connection, in this or another workspace, may be preserved. Channels tells you whether platform revocation was confirmed. If it was not confirmed, or you cannot sign in here, remove Exemplary from the platform’s connected apps settings to revoke its access. Removing permissions there alone does not delete records stored here.

Platform-specific choices

  • Facebook: remove Exemplary under Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations, then select Exemplary and choose Remove. If it is listed under Apps and websites, remove it there too. This ends access for every Page and Facebook-linked Instagram account you connected. Disconnect here as well to delete the stored tokens and profile details.
  • Instagram: if you connected Instagram through Facebook, remove Exemplary from Facebook Business integrations as above. If you connected with Instagram login, open Instagram Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites and remove Exemplary. Instagram login access cannot be revoked from our side, so remove it there after you disconnect.
  • Threads: open Threads Settings → Account → Website permissions and remove Exemplary. Threads access cannot be revoked from our side, so remove it there after you disconnect. Delete published threads in the Threads app.
  • YouTube: disconnect here and, if needed, revoke access in your Google account permissions. See the YouTube details below.
  • TikTok: remove Exemplary under Settings and privacy → Security & permissions → Apps and services permissions in TikTok. You can also disconnect here to remove locally stored data.
  • LinkedIn: remove Exemplary under Settings & Privacy → Data privacy → Permitted services. Requests to delete LinkedIn API-collected data, including account-closure requests, are handled immediately after ownership is verified.
  • X: revoke Exemplary under Settings and privacy → Security and account access → Apps and sessions → Connected apps. Applicable content removal requests from X or the account owner are completed as soon as possible and within 24 hours of receipt.
Additional information for YouTube connections

For YouTube, you can also revoke authorization through your Google account permissions. Our cleanup process removes expired YouTube connection details and API-derived publishing data after 29 days; continuing requires a new authorization. This does not delete your original uploaded media or app-authored post text. Applicable YouTube API data deletion requests must be completed within seven calendar days.

Request additional data deletion

If you cannot access the app or want additional stored data removed, contact privacy@exemplary.ai with the account email and workspace name. Do not send passwords or access tokens. We may need to verify account ownership before processing your request.

Email us when:

  • you cannot sign in to disconnect the account yourself;
  • you removed Exemplary in Facebook, Instagram or Threads settings, which stops access but does not delete records stored here;
  • you want Facebook, Instagram or Threads post identifiers and links, original media, drafts or post text deleted;
  • you connected the same account in more than one workspace.

We complete deletion requests within 30 days. YouTube, LinkedIn and X requests follow the shorter timelines above.
