Best AI video repurposing tools

The best video repurposing tool depends on the job. To turn long videos into short vertical clips, look at OpusClip, Vizard, quso.ai (formerly vidyo.ai) and Klap. To add captions to videos that are already short, use Submagic. To auto-post one video to many social networks, use Repurpose.io; it distributes, it doesn't cut clips. To turn scripts or articles into videos, use Pictory. Several of these have changed since 2024: vidyo.ai now redirects to quso.ai, and Munch is now Munch Studio, a broader social media tool. Prices below were checked on each vendor's own pricing page on September 25, 2026.

Disclosure: we make Exemplary AI. It's covered separately at the end, not ranked.

How we compared

We looked at five things on each vendor's own site:

  1. Main job: AI clipping, captioning, cross-posting, or text-to-video.
  2. Free tier: whether there is one, plus its main limit (credits, resolution, watermark, how long clips are kept).
  3. Entry price: the cheapest paid plan, and whether that price is monthly or billed annually.
  4. Publishing: whether the tool can post or schedule to social platforms itself.
  5. Editing depth: how much you can fix once the AI has picked a clip.

We didn't score clip quality. It varies a lot by source video, so test with your own footage.

The tools in detail

OpusClip: best-known long-to-short clipper

OpusClip

OpusClip picks moments from a long video, reframes them vertically, and scores each clip with a "virality score" on paid plans. The free plan gives 60 credits a month, but clips carry a watermark and can only be exported for 3 days. Starter is $15 a month and billed monthly only. Pro ($29 a month, or $174 a year) adds a social scheduler, team seats, and export to Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve (OpusClip pricing).

Better than most here for: handing clips to an editor who works in Premiere or Resolve.

Vizard: clips plus scheduling

Vizard

Vizard makes AI clips and includes a full video editor and post scheduling. The free plan gives 60 credits a month, 720p exports and 3-day storage. Creator costs $29 a month, or $14.50 a month billed yearly ($174 a year), and adds watermark-free 4K exports (Vizard pricing).

quso.ai (formerly vidyo.ai): clips, scheduling and analytics

vidyo.ai now redirects to quso.ai. quso describes itself as "AI video clipping, editing, captions, scheduling, and analytics." The free plan has 75 credits a month at 720p. Lite costs $19 a month billed annually or $29 monthly. Scheduling to 7 platforms and filler/silence removal start on the Essential plan.

Klap: watermark-free clips, even on free

Klap prices plans by clips, videos or upload minutes, depending on the offer shown: Basic is $14 a month billed yearly, or $29 monthly. All plans include unlimited social accounts and analytics (Klap pricing). You can make 1 video free with no credit card, and Klap says clips on the free plan have no watermarks (Klap).

Submagic: captions for videos that are already short

Submagic is mainly a captioning and short-form editing tool, with AI captions, hook titles, and silence and bad-take removal. The Starter plan limits videos to 2 minutes, so it's for polishing shorts, not cutting a podcast episode. Starter is $12 a month billed yearly or $19 monthly (Submagic pricing).

Munch Studio: from clipper to social media manager

getmunch.com now redirects to Munch Studio, which describes itself as an AI social media management platform for businesses and agencies. It learns your business from your website and videos and drafts posts for you. Essential ($38 a month billed annually, or $456 a year) includes 500 minutes of video repurposing a month, with a 7-day free trial (Munch Studio pricing).

Repurpose.io: best for cross-posting, not clipping

Repurpose.io automates publishing one video across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and more. It doesn't find highlights for you, so pair it with a clipper. Starter is $35 a month or $349 a year, with a 14-day free trial (Repurpose.io pricing).

Better than most here for: pushing the same video to many accounts on many networks.

Pictory: best for turning text into video

Pictory

Pictory is an AI video generator: it turns scripts, articles and blog posts into videos with stock footage, voices and brand kits. Starter is $25 a month billed annually or $29 monthly, and there's a free trial (Pictory pricing).

Better than most here for: repurposing written content into video, the opposite direction from clipping.

Our product: Exemplary AI

Exemplary AI

Exemplary AI Clips turns long videos and podcasts into short vertical clips. It finds engaging moments and uses active speaker detection to frame each clip vertically. You can switch between fit, fill and split layouts, and add animated captions with emojis and brand templates. Filler words and silences can be removed, B-roll is added automatically, and you can trim clips in a text-based editor. You get AI titles and descriptions, and you download each clip as an MP4 to post yourself. The transcript behind each clip also gives you subtitles (.srt, .vtt), translations, summaries and blog drafts. There is a free plan; see pricing.

Where the others are better: OpusClip exports to Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. Repurpose.io is built for cross-posting to many networks and accounts. Pictory turns written articles into video, and Exemplary AI starts from audio or video.

FAQ

What is the best free video repurposing tool?

For AI clipping, quso.ai's free plan has the most monthly credits of the tools here (75), followed by OpusClip and Vizard (60 each). All three limit free exports: OpusClip adds a watermark, and quso and Vizard export at 720p.

Is vidyo.ai still available?

vidyo.ai now redirects to quso.ai, which offers AI clipping, captions, scheduling and analytics under the new name.

Does Repurpose.io make clips with AI?

No. Repurpose.io publishes and cross-posts videos across social networks. To pick highlights from a long video, use an AI clipper first, then distribute with Repurpose.io or a built-in scheduler.

How long should a repurposed clip be?

There's no single right length. Make each clip one complete idea with a clear opening line, and check each platform's current maximum length before you export, since those limits change.
